CHALLENGE:
As NAVSEA considered its enterprise IT infrastructure, they recognized that system performance was also impacted by the sheer volume of old data it was forced to maintain.
SOLUTION:
With this in mind, McKean developed an approach and data archive structure that allows IT specialists to migrate outdated information “off-line” while still complying with record retention rules. McKean’s solution also includes tagging the data with retirement dates so that information is automatically purged at the appropriate time.
SUCCESS:
The outcomes have meant improved system throughput, quicker access to retired data, faster migration to new systems, file retention requirements being met and more effective data management.
